International Training Seminar on Homecare Concludes with Over 200 Participants
The international seminar dedicated to the development of medico-social homecare services in Ukraine concluded today. The event was organized by the Homecare Association of the Republic of Moldova, with the support of the Czech Development Agency (CzechAID) and the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Chișinău.
Over the course of two successive training rounds held in the Odesa region, a total of 200 participants were trained—specialists, local authority representatives, healthcare professionals, and social workers from a wide range of Ukrainian communities.
The interest generated by the seminar exceeded the organizers’ expectations, with a significant number of additional participants joining outside the initial registration lists. For the upcoming training sessions, the number of applicants has already reached approximately 800, underlining both the urgency and the relevance of the project in the current wartime context.
The seminar agenda combined theoretical and practical components, covering the regulatory framework, professional ethics, quality standards, and modern methods of home-based care.
At the conclusion of the program, each participant received two homecare guides in Russian and Ukrainian, along with a fully equipped medical bag containing bandaging materials and essential instruments designed to facilitate the immediate application of newly acquired knowledge in their professional practice.
“This seminar is not only a transfer of technical expertise from the Republic of Moldova to Ukraine, but also a direct investment in people and in their capacity to support vulnerable communities,” stated Tamara Adașan, President of the Homecare Association.
The regional project “Transfer of Best Practices in Homecare” aims to develop sustainable medico-social services in Ukraine by adapting successful models from the Republic of Moldova, including the use of telemedicine.
