Ungheni: Day Socio-Medical Centre Established to Support Vulnerable Populations
A new Day Socio-Medical Centre has been established in the municipality of Ungheni with the aim of supporting vulnerable populations through integrated social and healthcare services.
The centre is already delivering multidisciplinary services tailored to individuals with heightened needs, including older persons, people with disabilities, bedridden patients, individuals suffering from chronic illnesses, as well as refugees currently residing in the region. Its team of specialists provides personalized care and interventions designed to enhance beneficiaries’ quality of life and ensure access to essential services.
The establishment of the centre was made possible through the generous financial support of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), within the framework of the GIZ project “Support to Moldovan Communities Hosting Ukrainian Refugees.” The initiative was implemented in partnership with the NGO “Homecare,” with the active involvement of local public authorities, particularly the Ungheni Municipality City Hall.
Project representatives emphasized the importance of strong collaboration between international partners, civil society, and local authorities in developing sustainable, community-based social services.
The initiators expressed their sincere gratitude to all those who contributed to the successful realization of this project, highlighting their shared vision, solidarity, and trust.
