TRAINING WORKSHOP FOR THE ONCOLOGICAL INSTITUTE

The Homecare Association organized, on Friday, March 10, an workshop for the employees of the Oncological Institute. The activity is part of the “Equity in health through social responsibility” project.

The scope of the project is to increase the responsibility of the authorities and institutions in the health system towards patients and the population by creating and/or strengthening the existing mechanisms of social responsibility.

AO HOMECARE is responsible for implementing objectives 2 and 3 of the project and namely, achieving mandatory health insurance at the national level and effectively protecting the population against poverty, caused by expenditures on health.

In order to achieve these objectives, it is necessary to create a national platform of representatives of civil society organizations, which will allocate the Funds for compulsory medical assistance insurance and will develop the Single Program of mandatory medical insurance. The project aims the involvement of the National Medical Insurance Company and the Parliamentary Commission for Health.

At the same time, the project will support professional associations and health professionals, the National Public Health Agency, as well as increase the capacity of regulatory/enforcement agencies, legal professionals and civil society organizations to improve accountability for health equity. The project is implemented by the Swiss Red Cross, in partnership with AO HOMECARE and AO CASMED and is financed by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation. The project is a component of the World Bank project “Modernization of the health sector in the Republic of Moldova” and is implemented from May 2019 to  April 2023.
