THE HOMECARE MOBILE TEAM “BREAK THE SILENCE” IN COMRAT.
The Homecare mobile team, UNFPA Implementing Partner in the response to the refugee crisis, participated in the community event part of the “Break the silence” campaign, on Saturday, March 18, in Comrat. Participants in the event have been informed on services offered by the mobile team in the Southern region of the Republic of Moldova, namely psychosocial support, information about gender based violence and the specialized services available, hygiene kits for women and girls, psychological and legal counseling.
Through a series of community events, partnerships and media activities, build on a proactive dialogue on gender-based violence, UNFPA, UNHCR, UNWomen and UNICEF, in coordination with the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, aim to create an environment of support for victims of gender based violence. This campaign aims to encourage dialogue, promote accountability so that those suffering from pain have access to safe and comprehensive services.
The campaign was launched by the GBV Sub Working Group, coordinated by UNFPA and UNHCR bringing together more than 63 national and international organizations and government entities. The campaign aims to prevent and respond to gender-based violence and is being run from November 2022 to March 2023.
