The “Hipocrates” Medico-Social Center reopens after renovation

The “Hipocrates” Medico-Social Center in the village of Doroțcaia, Dubăsari district, was officially reopened today following the completion renovation works. The center will resume its practical activities as soon as it receives the required sanitary operating authorization.

The event was attended by the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the Republic of Moldova, Jaromír Plíšek, and Barbora Žáčková, Counsellor for Development and Economic Affairs at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Chișinău. They reaffirmed the commitment of the Czech Government to support vulnerable communities in the Transnistrian region.

“The Government of the Czech Republic remains firmly committed to supporting communities and people in the Republic of Moldova who are in difficulty, through various development and humanitarian assistance projects. We are glad to have a trusted partner like AO Homecare, with whom we work constantly to provide concrete solutions for vulnerable people. The renovation of the ‘Hipocrates’ Medico-Social Center and the support given to families in Doroțcaia once again show that solidarity and cooperation can bring real change to people’s lives,” said Ambassador Jaromír Plíšek.

The renovation works were carried out as part of the project “Support for the Population Affected by the Energy Crisis in the Transnistrian Region”, implemented by AO Homecare with financial support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic and the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Chișinău.

The President of AO Homecare, Tamara Adașan, highlighted the importance of the collaboration with the Czech partners:

“We are deeply grateful to the Government of the Czech Republic and the Embassy of the Czech Republic for their generous support, not only for the renovation of the ‘Hipocrates’ Medico-Social Center in Doroțcaia but also for the direct assistance given to vulnerable people in the Transnistrian region. Through such partnerships, we manage to help people who need constant support, especially in difficult times. We thank everyone who made this project possible and we commit to continue standing by those who need us most.”

In addition, several vulnerable families from Doroțcaia and neighboring villages received sleeping kits — two pillows, a duvet, and a set of bed linen — as well as oil radiators to ensure better living conditions during the winter months. Beneficiaries expressed their gratitude for the assistance received, recalling the serious difficulties they faced during the previous cold season due to electricity shortages and insufficient heating capacities.

The event was also attended by Sergiu Grigoriev, President of the Dubăsari District, and Valeriu Berzan, Mayor of Doroțcaia village. The District President handed letters of gratitude to Ambassador Jaromír Plíšek and AO Homecare President Tamara Adașan, thanking them for their continuous support:

“We thank the Embassy of the Czech Republic for its involvement and generosity in supporting vulnerable families in the district, and AO Homecare for the constant care shown to people in need.”

The renovation was necessary because the “Hipocrates” Center has been operating continuously for over 18 years, providing medical and social support to hundreds of people from vulnerable categories. Through this project, “Support for the Population Affected by the Energy Crisis in the Transnistrian Region,” low-income families, the elderly, people with disabilities, and large families receive direct assistance and improved living conditions, thus reducing the risks of illness and the consequences of insufficient heating resources. The renovation of the center demonstrates that strong partnerships and international solidarity can transform lives and offer people a real chance at a safer and more dignified life.
