Inauguration of AO Homecare Psychological Support Space

Starting in May 2024, AO Homecare has opened a new space dedicated to psychological assistance for Ukrainian refugees. Located at the Sanatorium Preventoriu de Bază Constructorul, 15 N. Zelinski Street, 3rd floor, office 327, the new office offers a safe environment for psychological activities and emotional support.

In this space, AO Homecare psychologists organize various informative activities and provide specialized assistance on topics such as gender equality, protection against gender-based violence, access to essential health services, and promoting the feedback mechanism within the UNFPA network. The activities are primarily targeted at refugee women and girls but also include men and boys.

To meet the needs of the most vulnerable refugees, AO Homecare psychologists conduct home visits for bedridden beneficiaries or those in wheelchairs, ensuring access to psychological support even for those unable to move between floors. Additionally, hygiene kits are distributed to women and girls in need.

AO Homecare also provides consultancy on legal and social issues, including employment integration, continuing professional or higher education, and access to social and medical services. Refugees are informed about the medical and social benefits available to those with temporary protection status.

In cases requiring additional interventions, refugees are referred to specialized services outside the Constructorul Sanatorium, such as consultations in hospitals in Chișinău, dental services, Mental Health Centers, and Youth Clinic Centers.

This activity is part of the program “Improving Access to Essential Health Services and Protection from Gender-Based Violence for Refugees from Ukraine and Host Communities,” supported by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA Moldova) and funded by the European Union.
