Homecare Diabetes Awareness Campaign for Diabetes Prevention

The World Diabetes Day, observed annually on November 14th, highlights a significant motto in the 2023 campaign: “KNOW YOUR RISK, KNOW YOUR RESPONSE.” This aims to raise awareness about the risks associated with type 2 diabetes and its complications.

Homecare Association marked this day with an extensive awareness campaign for diabetes prevention, organized with the support of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – Moldova, in collaboration with the Civil Association PRO DIAB, and in coordination with the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Moldova. Throughout this campaign, Homecare deployed 42 workstations in localities where there are medical-social centers for home care, conducting over 300 tests at each workstation.

According to the United Nations’ data, 1 in 10 adults globally suffers from diabetes, and over 90% of them have type 2 diabetes. In many instances, type 2 diabetes and its complications can be prevented by adopting and maintaining healthy habits.
