The Public Association “Homecare” joyfully announces the completion of the external assistance project entitled “Establishment of a Placement Center for vulnerable individuals seeking help and shelter at Zabriceni Monastery, including Ukrainian refugees.” The project was funded by the Visegrád International Fund and implemented in partnership with the Public Association “Rural Family.” The project implementation period was from February 1, 2023, to January 31, 2024.

The closing event was attended by H.E. Mr. Petr Mareš, the Executive Director of the Visegrád International Fund, H.E. Mr. Stanislav Kazecky, the Ambassador of the Czech Republic, and H.E. Mr. Tomasz Kobzdej, the Ambassador of Poland, marking the importance and support provided by the international community in implementing this major social impact project.

The Placement Center was set up in the existing premises of Zabriceni Monastery. With the support of the project, the rooms of the residence were cosmetically renovated and equipped with the necessary furniture and appliances. During the project implementation, a medical assistant and a social worker were employed at the Center, providing assistance to a total of 160 beneficiaries.

Those in need of specialized medical consultation benefited from the services of the “Telemedicine” platform provided by the employees of the “Saint Juliana” medico-social center in the village of Țaul, Dondușeni district. The project ensured the supply of the Center with medicines and necessary medical supplies. Additionally, a vehicle for the transportation of vulnerable individuals was acquired.

At the end of the project, the Placement Center is handed over to the administration of Zabriceni Monastery, which will continue to cover all maintenance costs and provide support to the beneficiaries.

In his address, the abbot of the monastery, Father Damian, expressed gratitude to the involved partners and emphasized the importance of continuing this humanitarian mission.

The Public Association “Homecare” expresses gratitude to the Visegrád International Fund, as well as to all partners and volunteers involved in the realization of this vital project for the local community and those in need.

The project was co-financed by the governments of the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia through the Visegrád International Fund. The mission of the fund is to promote ideas for sustainable regional cooperation in Central Europe.
