CALL FOR SUPPORT AND SOLIDARITY: THE STORY OF OLESEA AND VLADISLAV, A COURAGEOUS UKRAINIAN COUPLE

Olesea and Vladislav are a Ukrainian couple from Bahmut who have experienced and survived the devastating challenges of the Russian aggression. Despite losing their home and witnessing the destruction of their hometown, they have kept their courage and determination to rebuild their lives.

They have lost their friends and acquaintances, and their family has been torn apart, with their children and grandchildren seeking refuge in Germany. Olesea and Vladislav have desperately searched for a sense of peace and stability, a new place to call home.

In their journey of displacement, they have found support and solace from the team at Safe Space Gara Feroviară, managed by the HOMECARE Association. This team has provided them not only with vital information but also with emotional and psychological support. Aware of the legal complexities they faced, their case was referred to legal experts at the Lawyers’ Rights Center, ensuring comprehensive legal assistance.

Furthermore, the staff at Safe Space connected them with the family reunification program of IOM Moldova, which aims to assist families like theirs in reuniting.

We believe that by sharing their story, we can raise awareness and encourage solidarity for individuals and families affected by the consequences of war. We kindly ask you to join us in prayers and support for Olesea and Vladislav, as well as many others who strive to rebuild their lives and find solace amidst adversity.

This activity is part of the program “Improving Access to Essential Health and Gender-Based Violence Protection Services for Refugees from Ukraine and Host Communities,” implemented by AO Homecare, supported by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA Moldova) in the Republic of Moldova and funded by the European Union.
