200 Young Entrepreneurs in the Republic of Moldova Supported through European Grants
The final event of the project “Empowering Young Entrepreneurs in the Republic of Moldova,” implemented by AO HOMECARE with the financial support of the European Union, brought together young entrepreneurs, development partners, and stakeholders to reflect on the results achieved and the impact generated across local communities.
As the lead implementing organization, AO HOMECARE coordinated the project’s execution and facilitated young entrepreneurs’ access to funding, mentorship, and training, thereby directly contributing to the development of economic initiatives across multiple regions of the country.
According to the final data presented by AO HOMECARE, the project supported over 200 young entrepreneurs who received grants to launch or expand their businesses. In total, 204 enterprises from both urban and rural areas were supported, resulting in the creation of 227 jobs.
The grants, ranging from €3,000 to €7,000, provided essential capital for business development. Of the total beneficiaries, 111 were women and 93 were men, reflecting a balanced participation and a strong emphasis on economic inclusion.
“HOMECARE’s involvement in such a project was a first for us, given that our statutory activities focus on providing medico-social home care services for people with disabilities, immobile individuals, and those in critical condition. When we were presented with the challenge of entering the field of social entrepreneurship, we were initially cautious, as this was a new domain for us and we were committed to delivering quality results. However, the coordination team motivated, guided, and supported us throughout the process. We embraced the challenge, and I can confidently say that the outcome is 99 percent a success,” stated Tamara Adașan, Director of AO HOMECARE.
During the event, beneficiaries showcased concrete examples of businesses developed through the project, highlighting the integrated role of funding, mentorship, and training provided under AO HOMECARE’s coordination in transforming ideas into sustainable ventures.
Project partners contributed complementary expertise to the implementation process. “Within this project, we supported entrepreneurs from all regions of the Republic of Moldova by providing informational support and consultancy to young entrepreneurs,” said Sergiu Mihailov, President of AO “Pro Cooperare Regională.”
Through its outcomes, AO HOMECARE underscores the project’s contribution to fostering youth entrepreneurship and expanding economic opportunities across the Republic of Moldova.
