HomecareTeamInCăușeni: Providing Vital Support for Vulnerable Communities
The mobile team from AO Homecare is actively operating in the Căușeni district, providing psychosocial, emotional, and informational support on critical topics such as gender equality, protection against gender-based violence, and access to essential health services. Additionally, the team promotes the feedback mechanism of the UNFPA network, ensuring that beneficiaries can express their opinions and needs.
The mobile team has distributed hygiene packages to women in vulnerable situations. Furthermore, consultations are offered on various subjects, such as obtaining temporary protection status, medical benefits, and recent changes to financial aid conditions for refugees.
Oxana, a 42-year-old woman, arrived from the Kharkiv region at the start of the war with her husband and 10-year-old son. Her two older daughters, aged 21 and 22, remained in Kharkiv. Her husband, originally from Căușeni, returned to his parents’ home, and Oxana is caring for her bedridden mother-in-law. In a small village with limited recreation options, meetings with the mobile team have become a valuable source of information for Oxana and her family.
Valentina, a 71-year-old woman from the Dnepropetrovsk region, lives alone after her apartment was destroyed by a shell and her husband passed away. With no children or family support, Valentina benefits from regular visits from the mobile team, receiving assistance and emotional support.
The activities carried out by the AO Homecare mobile team in the Căușeni communities are significantly improving the quality of life for Ukrainian refugees, providing them with vital support and information to cope with daily challenges. The Homecare team continues to dedicate its efforts to assisting those in need, demonstrating solidarity and community involvement.
This activity is part of the “Improving Access to Essential Health and Protection Services for Refugees from Ukraine and Host Communities” program, supported by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA Moldova) in Moldova and funded by the European Union.
